Khammam AR constable suspended after being caught gambling during police raid
An AR constable posted as a driver at Sathupalli town police station was suspended after being caught during a gambling raid in Khammam district. Police registered cases against 22 people after raiding a gambling den on the outskirts of Ammapalem village.
Khammam: A police constable who was caught gambling in the district was suspended from services.
According to an official release here on Thursday, Vemsoor Sub-Inspector of Police Kavitha and her team raided a gambling den organised by Kancharla Venkateswara Rao alias Jayam and Srihari on the outskirts of Ammapalem village in Vemsoor mandal on July 19.
Cases were registered against 22 individuals in the case. An AR constable, Mohammad Imran Sharif, serving as a driver at Sathupalli town police station was also caught during the raid.
Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt issued orders suspending the constable for negligence in the discharge of his duties and for violating departmental regulations.
