Khammam: Congress Legislative Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said that he would embark on a padayatra in Madhira constituency from January 9 to draw government attention towards public issues.

He revealed that his padayatra would start from Yedavalli village in Mudigonda mandal in the district. He attended the mandal Congress meeting at Narasimhapuram in Chintakani mandal in Madhira constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Vikramarka complained that farmers were committing suicide as they were not able to sell the paddy they harvested. He questioned why the government was not purchasing the paddy.

He explained that he will highlight people’s problems like job notification, implementation of unemployment benefit, solution of farmers’ problems, empowerment of women, new pensions and others through the padayatra.

Kisan Cell State president Sunketa Anvesh Reddy, former MLC Potla Nageswara Rao, district Congress president Puvalla Durgaprasad, constituency president Ambati Venkateswara Rao and senior leader Rayala Nageswara Rao were present on the occasion.
