Khammam: Khammam Central Crime Station (CCS) police have solved a theft case registered at Kakatiya University Campus police station and arrested three interstate criminals from West Bengal.

According to officials, the case registered at KUC police station under the Warangal Police Commissionerate involved Crime Nos. 669/2025, 670/2025 and 14/2026 under Sections 331(3) (house-breaking) and 305(a) (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Warangal district police, relying on CCTV camera footage, identified suspects who had committed a theft at a residence. The footage revealed that the accused were attempting to flee with the stolen property aboard a train passing through Khammam.

Warangal police immediately alerted their counterparts in Khammam. Acting on the orders of Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt, the Khammam CCS swung into action. Posing as ordinary passengers, the personnel boarded the train at Khammam and meticulously searched every coach.

By the time the train reached Madhira, they successfully identified and apprehended the three accused, Shaik Firoz, Shaik Emin and Shaik Sukh Chand, all natives of West Bengal, and subsequently handed them over to the Warangal police.

Warangal Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh thanked the CCS police for their immediate response and assistance and presented a certificate of appreciation. Khammam CP Sunil Dutt presented the certificate of appreciation to the CCS personnel on Thursday. Additional DCP Ramanujam and CCS ACP Sarwar were also present.
