Khammam: Jubilant celebrations erupted here on Monday as the State government sanctioned a medical college for Khammam district.
Even as Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar along with MLAs K Upender Reddy, L Ramulu Naik and B Hari Priya met the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in Hyderabad to express their gratitude, TRS cadres in the district organised joyous celebrations.
The Minister and MLAS called on the Chief Minister in the assembly and thanked him for his special initiative of making budgetary provisions for setting up a new Medical College in the district.
The State government led by Chandrashekhar Rao has been setting up Medical Colleges and hospitals in every district to expand and to offer quality medical services to people, said a statement from Ajay Kumar’s camp office here.
He said the 2022-23 budget was a comprehensive budget that protects the interests of all sections in the society and was aimed at the development and welfare of the State. The minister thanked the Chief Minister for the budgetary allocation of Rs 1,500 crore for strengthening the TSRTC.
It was possible only for the Chief Minister to propose a budget of Rs 2,56,958.51 crore even in the most critical situations. Rs 12,000 crore allocation made for double bedroom houses proved his commitment towards the poor and make them live with self-respect , Ajay Kumar noted.
Meanwhile, the ZP Chairman L Kamal Raju, SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, Mayor P Neeraja, senior TRS leader Gundala Krishna and others have shared sweets and burst crackers at Government District Headquarters Hospital in Khammam.
Speaking to the media, the ZP Chairman said the government’s decision to set up a Medical College in Khammam was a slap in the face of the opposition leaders who made baseless allegations against the TRS government and Ajay Kumar.
In erstwhile Andhra Pradesh there were only three Medical Colleges in Telangana, but now the Chief Minister has been establishing Medical Colleges in all the districts. In the days to come world class medical and health services would be offered to the people, he added.
