TSRTC to run 2,243 special buses for Maha Shivaratri devotees
TSRTC will operate 2,243 special buses between February 14–16 for Maha Shivaratri pilgrims, connecting 43 major Shaivite shrines in Telangana. Special fares are revised up to 1.5 times, while free travel for women continues in all eligible buses.
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate a total of 2,243 special buses from February 14 to 16 to facilitate devotees travelling to various Shaivite temples for Maha Shivaratri.
As per the State government’s orders, ticket fares in special buses will be revised up to 1.5 times the regular fare. The revised fares will apply only to special services operating from February 14 to 16. For Edupayala-bound special buses, the revised fares will be applicable from February 15 to 17. There will be no change in ticket prices for regular services.
In Hyderabad, special buses to Srisailam will be available from MGBS, JBS, CBS, IS Sadan, KPHB and BHEL. Additionally, 273 buses to other prominent temples including Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheswaram, Palakurthi and Ramappa.
TGSRTC is making arrangements such as tents, seating facilities, drinking water and public address systems at major boarding points to ensure passenger convenience.
The corporation clarified that the free travel scheme for women in Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses will continue to be implemented in special services as per government guidelines. Women passengers have been advised to obtain zero tickets during travel. Advance reservation facility has been provided for special buses from Hyderabad to Srisailam.
