Khammam Collector reviews lockdown arrangements
Collector along with Commissioner of Police Vishnu S Warrier held a video-conference with revenue, police and health officials on the lockdown situation and discussed measures to contain the Covid spread
Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan has on Saturday directed the district officials to make efforts for effective implementation of lockdown for the next 10 days. He along with Commissioner of Police (CP) Vishnu S Warrier held a video-conference with revenue, police and health officials on the lockdown situation and discussed measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the district.
Strict surveillance should be maintained at 33 border villages in 10 mandals of the district to check movements of public from other States into the district. There should be effective coordination between revenue, police and health officials to stop the spread of Covid-19, Karnan said.
Focus should be laid on the mandals in which high numbers of Covid cases were being recorded and those tested positive for the Coronavirus have to be shifted to isolation centres. The isolation centres should be decentralised, he suggested.
Karnan wanted to identify the super spreaders of the disease and take measures to vaccinate them. Steps have to be taken to create awareness on the Covid call centre: 1077 set up at district headquarters, in rural areas to help the villagers seek information about Covid care.
CP Vishnu S Warrier advised the police personnel to close down roads on border villages and carry out mobile patrolling in the villages. Special focus has to be laid on belt-shops and their organisers have to be bound over.
As many as 230 vehicles have been seized on Saturday for violating lockdown rules. There were 15 border check posts and 15 internal check posts, police pickets at 37 places while 30 mobile patrolling vehicles were engaged in implementing the lockdown, the CP added.
