MLC polls: AEROs told to inspect polling station buildings, submit rationalisation proposals

Hyderabad District Election Officer RV Karnan has directed Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to carry out 100 per cent physical verification of polling stations in the Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Graduates' Constituency.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Election Officer RV Karnan directed the assistant electoral registration officers’ (AEROs) to conduct 100 percent physical verification of the existing polling stations to ascertain whether any buildings have been dismantled or converted for residential use, and submit rationalisation proposals without any omissions.

Karnan on Saturday held a meeting with AEROs regarding the Mahabubnagar – Rangareddy – Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency polls. Tentatively, 656 polling stations have been identified across Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Narayanpet, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Hyderabad for polls.

He directed AEROs to communicate the schedule of de novo preparation of electoral rolls for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy -Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency to political parties and conduct meetings of recognised political parties meeting with district level representatives.
