Khammam: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a deputy tahsildar and deputy surveyor red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from a farmer at Vemsoor in the district on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the ACB, deputy tahsildar, Usikala Upender and deputy surveyor, Inapala Guruveshwar Rao demanded one lakh rupees bribe to conduct survey and fix boundaries of a land belonging to a farmer, Thota Samvasiva Rao of Sathupally.
The farmer agreed to pay the money and approached the ACB officials, who laid a trap and caught the two red-handed at Vemsoor tahsildar office. The bribe amount was seized and the duo would be produced before the ACB court in Hyderabad, said the ACB officials.
