Khammam: The city based Swarna Bharathi Institute of Technology (SBIT) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the noted international company Honeywell, informed the college chairman Gundala Krishna.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of a bridge conference-2024 organised by ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu in Hyderabad on Thursday. Honeywell has recognised SBIT as a centre of excellence for youth empowerment. As part of the MoU the college students will be trained in advanced IT skills, he said.

The college secretary and correspondent Dr. G Dhatri said that multinational companies and various affiliated colleges of the State jointly participate in the bridge conference organised by the academy every year.

Students would be trained and made aware of cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, generative AI and cloud computing by the company, she said.

The college principal Dr. G Raj Kumar said that it was a matter of pride for the college to get the recognition as a centre of excellence for youth empowerment in the conference presided over by Tamil Nadu IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.

In the coming days training programmes conducted by the academy and Honeywell would prepare the college students for placements in multinational companies, he added.

ICT Academy additional chief secretary Kumar Jayant, CEO V Srikanth, state head Gopal and others were present in the conference.
