Khammam: An incident of police registering an FIR against a Sub-Inspector (SI) at VM Banjar police station in Penuballi mandal of the district has come to light.
Sub-Inspector T Nagaraju was booked under Sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 167 (public servant framing an incorrect document with intent to cause injury) along with four others — Nannaka Satyanarayana, Basavaiah, Rukminamma and Naresh, all members of a family.
The first information report (FIR) was registered on November 2 following the orders issued by Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, Sathupalli. The orders were issued based on a petition filed by Telluri Thirumal Rao, advocate by profession. According to the complainant, the accused Satyanarayana and his family members had tried to encroach upon 423 sq yards of land he owned at Mandalapadu village in Penuballi mandal on January 29 under VM Banjar police station limits.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Thirumal Rao said the SI had failed to take action on a complaint he lodged against Satyanarayana and others. In addition, the SI had supported the accused in putting up a fence around the land in a bid to encroach it on January 30. “As the police were helping the accused, I approached the court. Even after the FIR was registered against the SI and other accused, no action has been taken against them so far. They are issuing me threats through middlemen,” the complainant alleged.
