Khammam: Tenth class students of private school came to the rescue of their classmate whose father was suffering from a kidney ailment.
B Srinivas Rao of Saradhinagar in the city has been suffering from kidney disease for the past few months. Doctors advised him to go for kidney transplantation as both his kidneys were damaged. The family was not in a position to bear the huge costs needed for the medical procedure. Moved by the plight of their classmate, B Charan, son of Srinivas Rao, his friends and classmates decided to extend financial support to the family.
The matter was taken to the notice of school headmistress Parvathi Reddy by their class teacher, Madhavi. The headmistress gave permission to collect voluntary donations from tenth grade students.
The students together raised an amount of Rs 14,000 and handed it over to Charan’s father at his residence and wished him speedy recovery. Srinivas Rao thanked the students for their big heart and their concern for his health.
Harvest High School correspondent Ravi Maruth and headmistress congratulated the students for supporting the family of a friend in distress, a statement said on Tuesday. Students Karthik, Ishaq Adil, Bhanu Prakash, Harsha Vardhan, Pawan Kumar and others took part in the initiative.
