Khammam: A two-day RDIO Hackathon would be held at Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women in Khammam, informed the college chairman, Dr Katepalli Naveen Babu.
The hackathon poster was released at the college on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a hackathon would take place on December 6 and 7 and all the students of different departments would participate in this programme.
The hackathon helps students to collaborate to create innovative solutions to real-world problems within a set period of time with the goal of developing prototypes or projects while improving their skills in problem-solving, teamwork and technology.
RDIO spokesperson, Karthik Nama said that hackathon, also known as Codefest, was a social coding event that brings together computer programmers and other interested people to improve or create a new software programme.
Engineering departments, especially web-based companies, have been adopting the practice to introduce entrepreneurship into the enterprises, hackathons were sometimes undertaken to achieve a specific goal, giving employees the freedom and support to collaborate with colleagues in other departments to produce a viable product within a given time frame, he said.
The college principal Dr B Gopal and its academic director Atluri Venkataramana were present.
