Hyderabad: Khethworks Private Limited, an agriculture-focused social enterprise developing affordable and reliable solar-powered portable dryland crop cycle solutions, for small and marginal farmers, inaugurated its new corporate office in Sainikpuri, Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad office marks an important step in Khethworks’ continued efforts to develop and expand technology-led solutions for farmers, particularly those cultivating small plots of land and facing challenges related to irrigation, unreliable rainfall and the high cost of conventional fuel-based pumping, a press release said.
Khethworks’ work is rooted in the development of affordable, portable and efficient solar-powered irrigation systems designed specifically around the requirements of small-plot farmers. The company emerged from the MIT Tata Center for Technology and Design, where its technology was developed to address irrigation challenges faced by small-acreage farmers in India.
MIT has highlighted Khethworks as a startup developing solar-powered pumps that can help farmers irrigate their crops year-round.
