Adilabad: Mavala police rescued a minor girl who was allegedly kidnapped by two youngsters within just three hours of being informed by the girl’s mother. Both the youngsters were arrested.

Adilabad DSP SSV Venkateshwar Rao, briefing the media on Friday, said the accused were Mohsin Khan and his friend from KRK Colony in Mavala mandal centre. The girl belongs to a tribal community and is also a resident of the KRK Colony.

Mohsin along with his aide abducted the 15-year-old girl in an autorickshaw when she went to attend nature’s call at around 6 am. The girl’s parents realised that their daughter was being kidnapped by some unidentified persons after hearing an alarm raised by the girl. They immediately informed the police.

A team of experts from the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and a special team of policemen led by Inspector K Purushottam Chary caught Mohsin and his accomplice at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad at about 9 am and rescued the girl, much to the relief of her parents.

In-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra commended Adilabad Rural Inspector Purushottam Chary and Mavala in-charge Sub-Inspector Dagide Radhika, second Sub-Inspector D Padma and his team for chasing the culprits.
