KIMS Group partners with Medtronic to upskill 100 young surgeons across multiple specialties

Nearly 100 young surgeons are set to receive advanced training to strengthen their skills in specialties including General Surgery, Oncology, Urology-Gynaecology, and Endoscopy. The comprehensive upskilling programs will combine classroom instruction, practical hands-on training, and observership opportunities, offering a well-rounded learning experience tailored to each surgeon’s area of focus.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Group of Hospitals on Monday announced its MoU with Medtronic to upskill young surgeons on advanced surgical procedures across its health care facilities in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, as well as its upcoming facilities at Thane, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

A total of nearly 100 young surgeons will be trained to enhance their surgical expertise in specialties such as General Surgery, Oncology, Urology-Gynaecology, and Endoscopy. The structured upskilling programs will encompass a mix of didactic sessions, hands-on experience, and observership, ensuring a holistic learning experience tailored to the specific needs of surgeons. Senior faculty from KIMS Group of Hospitals have been identified to conduct specialized educational workshops covering various surgical interventions.


Speaking on the collaboration, Mandeep Singh Kumar, MD, Medtronic India stated, “This partnership is a step forward in addressing critical healthcare challenges in India, where the need for skilled clinicians is paramount.
