KIMS Hospitals launches Tulsa-Pro for prostate cancer treatment in Hyderabad

KIMS Hospitals in Hyderabad has introduced Tulsa-Pro, an advanced prostate cancer treatment system developed by Canada's Profound Medical Corp.

Hyderabad: DSS Imagetech announced the availability of Tulsa-Pro for treatment of prostate cancer at KIMS Hospitals here. It is the first and only centre in India and South Asia offering the advanced treatment.

The system by Canada-based Profound Medical Corp has been designed to provide a pain-free, non-intrusive, customisable and targeted treatment of prostate cancer, without any incisions or radiation, a press release said.

The procedure allows physicians to visualise the prostate and surrounding structures, target the treatment area precisely, and monitor the treatment process, all in real time. Controlled ultrasound energy is delivered through the urethra to precisely target the identified malignant prostate tissues while preserving surrounding healthy structures, it said.
