Rajanna-Sircilla: Villagers and family members of a farmer Baithi Devaiah (50), who died when he was hit by a sand tipper in Mustabad on Thursday, staged dharna along with dead body in Mustabad mandal headquarters demanding justice to the kin of the deceased.

Vehicular traffic on Siddipet-Kamareddy main road came to stand still for four hours as the agitating people refused to withdraw their protest. BJP and Congress leaders also extended their support to agitating villagers.

According to police, a native of Therlumaddi of Mustabad mandal, Devaiah along with his brother Komuraiah was going to the bank in Mustabad in a two-wheeler.

A tipper transporting sand from Venkaiahkunta of Mustabad mandal to adjacent Siddipet district hit the bike coming from the opposite direction at 2 pm. While Devaiah died on the spot, Komuraiah received serious injuries.

Komuriah, who initially shifted to Siddipet, was shifted to Hyderabad hospital as his health condition turned serious.

Enraged over the incident, villagers staged dharna along with the dead body in Mustabad. They refused to withdraw their protest till justice was done to the victim.

Sircilla rural CI Upender and local political leaders including MPP Sharath Rao convinced the agitating people to withdraw their protest by promising to provide all kinds of assistance to the family members of the deceased.
