Sangareddy: Some residents of Kistareddypet in Ameenpur mandal have lodged a complaint against a BHEL employee, Prasanna Kumar, accusing him of cheating them after allegedly promising to secure 2BHK houses. The complainants met Ameenpur Inspector P Naresh and stated that Prasanna Kumar had collected Rs 3 lakh each from 69 persons a few months ago, assuring them that their names would be approved for government housing.

According to the victims, despite repeated requests to either fulfil the promise or return the money, Prasanna Kumar did not respond. They alleged that the amount was collected through a middleman identified as Jose Brother, and the total collected reportedly amounted to nearly Rs 2.5 crore.

On Tuesday, the victims gathered at the Ameenpur Police Station and formally lodged a complaint, seeking justice and refund of their money. The Ameenpur police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
