Kodad police nab four chain snatchers who targetted women living alone
The police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 11 lakh, silver items, three expensive motorcycles, and three mobile phones from the accused persons.

Suryapet: Kodad town police have arrested a gang of four for targeting lone women and snatching their chains and gold ornaments. The gang, addicted to liquor and gambling, was involved in seven such cases.
The police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 11 lakh, silver items, three expensive motorcycles, and three mobile phones from the accused persons.
Briefing the media on the arrests, Superintendent of Police of Suryapet, Narasimha said that the accused were identified as Itikala Phanichand from Huzurnagar, Chekuri Nagendrababu from Kodad town, and two minors.
Over the past few weeks, the gang targeted women who were found walking alone on the streets in Kodad and Munagala, snatching gold chains from them. Police investigations revealed that the thieves used an expensive motorcycle to commit these crimes.
Based on this lead, special parties tracked the suspects and apprehended Phanichand when he visited Nagendrababu’s house in Kodad. During interrogation, the gang confessed to their involvement in the chain snatching cases reported in the district and elsewhere. The gang also admitted to targeting locked houses at night for burglaries.
