Hyderabad: Residents of Shweta Shubham Residency and IT professionals in Kompally complained of deteriorating civic infrastructure under the Congress government in Hyderabad.
They submitted representations to BRS working president KT Rama Rao on local civic issues and appreciated civic amenities in Hyderabad during the previous BRS regime.
A delegation of residents and IT employees, led by BRS Legislature Party Whip and Qutbullahpur MLA KP Vivekananda, met the former Municipal Minister at his residence in Nandi Nagar on Friday to discuss issues affecting their area.
The residents alleged that while drinking water was supplied regularly on alternate days during the BRS government’s tenure, they were getting drinking water supply only once every five days and at low pressure, affecting daily life.
The citizens also raised concerns over the delayed completion of a flyover project being executed by the Centre between Bowenpally, Suchitra junction, Kompally and Medchal for the last two years, leading to severe traffic congestion. They also raised concerns over the lack of progress on the proposed Metro Rail extension from Kompally to Medchal.
Responding to the representations, Rama Rao accused the Congress government of failing to maintain existing infrastructure while claiming credit for development initiatives of the BRS government.
He reminded that the BRS government had invested heavily in upgrading Hyderabad’s infrastructure and attracting investments. He assured support on behalf of the BRS and pressed the government to resolve their grievances.
