Warangal: The rift between Forest Minister Konda Surekha and Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy continued on Saturday evening as well, with the Minister retorting that the legislator had won his election “by luck”.
The MLA had recently lodged a complaint with the Telangana Congress leadership against the Minister after she appointed two persons as members of the Bhadrakali Temple Trust.
Defending her decision, Surekha, who also holds the Endowments portfolio, said: “As Endowments Minister, can’t I appoint two persons as members of a temple trust? It is unfortunate.”
The Minister, who laid foundation stones for several development works in Warangal East constituency, told the media that the appointments had been pending for long. She claimed that those chosen were recommended by senior leaders, not her own followers, and there was no personal interest involved.
“Nayini Rajender Reddy is younger to me. He has been trying to become an MLA since long and luckily won the elections. I do not want to make any comments on him. I leave it up to his wisdom,” Surekha said in a video, now circulating on social media.
