Warangal: Internal differences between Forest Minister Konda Surekha and Congress MLAs have once again come to the fore, with Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy lodging a complaint with the Telangana Congress leadership against the Minister.
The MLA is learnt to have spoken to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud over phone, expressing displeasure that the Forest Minister had appointed two persons as Bhadrakali Temple Trust members without consulting him.
“Forest Minister Konda Surekha is taking unilateral decisions and this will not augur well for the Congress party,” Rajender Reddy reportedly told the TPCC president.
Factionalism continues to dominate the party in Warangal, with Congress MLAs in the erstwhile district openly opposing the Minister and her husband, Konda Murali.
In June this year, the MLAs had taken their grievances to AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, alleging that the Konda family was attempting to overshadow them in the district. They also complained that the couple was interfering in other constituency matters and taking decisions unilaterally.
The rift deepened after comments made by Konda Murali during Rahul Gandhi’s birthday celebrations, where he allegedly called Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and Parakal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy “traitors.” The MLAs demanded stern action against the Konda couple.
For several months now, both Konda Surekha and Konda Murali have been at loggerheads with MLAs from Warangal over multiple issues.
