Kothagudem: District Collector D Anudeep directed officials to take steps to develop greenery along the roads leading to the district headquarters.
He made a surprise inspection to Bruhat Palle Prakrithi Vanam at Lothuvagu, median plantation at Yellandu crossroads, avenue plantation in Laxmidevipalli mandal in the district on Monday.
Anudeep said central lighting system would be developed from Yellandu cross roads towards Sri Ramachandra Degree College. Multi-purpose plants should be planted on the median.
He noted that a large piece of land by the side of the road was vacant and grown-up saplings had to be planted on that space. He told the local MPDO to submit proposals for funds for the purpose.
The Collector wanted signboards set up on the main road indicating the presence of Bruhat Palle Prakrithi Vanam at Lothuvagu so that the passersby could visit the park. Platforms and benches have to be built at the park for the public to rest in the park.
