Khammam: As many as 1.15 lakh rapid test kits were available in Kothagudem district to conduct Covid tests, informed District Collector Anudeep Durishetty.
Similarly around 58,000 home isolation kits were available to be provided to those test positive for Covid, the Collector said here on Thursday. He informed that an isolation centre has been set up at Manugur government hospital.
The first dose Covid vaccination was 100 percent complete in the district while the second dose was administered to 82 percent of the eligible population. Around 57 percent of teenagers were vaccinated. Vaccination for all age groups would be completed by January end.
Durishetty held a video-conference with mandal special officers, health officers, tahsildars and others to review on vaccination drive and door-to-door fever survey aimed at controlling the Covid spread.
He asked the officials to create awareness among the public about the importance of the door-to-door fever survey. The multi-purpose teams set up for the purpose have to cover 35 to 40 houses in a day. Reports on the survey have to be submitted from all villages and municipalities everyday.
Individuals who showed Covid symptoms should be given home isolation kits while explaining to them how to use the medicines. Mandal special officers and health officials have to conduct surprise inspections to monitor the survey and the vaccination process.
Those who tested positive to Omicron have to be in home isolation for seven days and take medicines for five days continuously. If the disease symptoms persist the patients have to be shifted to nearby public health facility for treatment, Durishetty suggested.
The Collector cautioned private hospitals against administering cocktail injections to patients and charging patients excessively while adding that action would be taken against the hospitals that violated the rules.
