Kothagudem Collector gets warm farewell on his retirement
On the last day of his service, the Collector took part in 'Dial your Collector' programme and told the officials to address public grievances on priority basis

Kothagudem: District Collector Dr M V Reddy, who retired from service on Monday, was given a warm farewell by officials and political leaders here.
The collectorate staff welcomed the Collector into the office showering flower petals on him marking his superannuation and expressing their affection for the official. On the last day of his service, the Collector took part in ‘Dial your Collector’ programme and told the officials to address public grievances on priority basis.
Later speaking at the farewell meeting, Dr. Reddy thanked the collectorate staff, officials, political leaders and media persons who extended their support to him during his 16 months stint as the District Collector in Kothagudem district.
The Zilla Parishad Chairman, Koram Kanakaiah, felicitated the Collector and his wife with a massive garland and said Reddy was credited with the successful implementation of Telangana government’s ambitious ‘Palleprakruthi Vanam’ programme in the district. ‘Even as Dr. Reddy was infected with Coronavirus sometime back, he did not bother to take rest but continued to monitor the Covid situation and ensured oxygen beds in hospitals in the district, provided nutritious food and fruits to the poor infected by the Covid,” he said.
The Coronavirus pandemic began just days after he took charge as the third District Collector and Dr. Reddy succeeded in disease control measures and won accolades from Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal for curbing the epidemic spread, the ZP Chairman noted.
Kothagudem MLA, Vanama Venkateshwar Rao who also felicitated the Collector, said he constantly alerted the authorities to protect the people of the district from Covid and wanted Dr. Reddy to spend the rest of his life happily with his family members.
The District Library Chairman, Dindigala Rajender, ZP Vice Chairman, K Chandrashekhar Rao, ZP CEO, Vidyalatha and several felicitated the Collector Dr. Reddy and wished him good luck for his retirement life.
Meanwhile, Additional Collector, Anudeep Durishetty was placed in full additional charge of the post of the District Collector until further orders. He assumed charge on Monday.
