Kothagudem: Nava Vocational Training Institute, run by Nava Limited, is a great boon for the unemployed youth in rural parts of the district, said district Collector Jitesh V Patil.
He visited vocational training institute and Nava Women Empowerment Centre at Paloncha as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative on Friday. He asked the youths to use the opportunity provided by the company to shape their future.
The Collector interacted with the women undergoing training at the centre and enquired about the programme. There was a good demand for home decoration items made from palm leaves and the women should make the best use of the training to develop economically, he suggested.
Later, Patil attended the certificates presentation ceremony for the candidates who have completed training in electrical and AC repair courses. Sandeep and Muzamil, who completed the training in electrical works, said the training was very useful for them.
Nava Limited general manager (CSR) MGM Prasad said more than 1,711 youths completed various courses at the institute so far. They got jobs in leading public sector companies such as Singareni, KTPS and BHEL, besides private companies such as Kirby Building Systems, Heritage and others.
Chief planning officer Sanjeeva Rao, chief liaison officer Khaderandra Babu, chief trainer P Sambasiva Rao, Ch Srinivasa Rao, USN Sharma, Ramakrishna and others were present.
