Kothagudem man sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering mother
A Kothagudem court sentenced Lodh Ramesh to life imprisonment for murdering his mother in May 2024. Ramesh attacked his parents during a quarrel over food, leaving his mother Dulari Bai fatally injured. He also assaulted his father and children before fleeing.

Kothagudem: Principal District and Sessions Judge Patil Vasanth on Tuesday convicted and sentenced a man, who murdered his mother in 2024, to life imprisonment.
Kothagudem Two-Town police on May 10, 2024 received a complaint from Kori Srikanth of Ramavaram that his nephew, Lodh Ramesh, had attacked his parents, Lodh Dulari Bai and Lodh Shyam Lal at their residence at Tilak Nagar area of Rudrampur.
On the same day, Ramesh brought chicken; gave it to his mother Dulari Bai and told her to cook it. During the meal, he quarreled with his parents on the pretext that the chicken was not enough for him and attacked them with a stick and a knife, intending to kill them.
Dulari Bai suffered severe injuries on her head, legs and arms. Shyam Lal also suffered severe bleeding injuries. Ramesh also beat his son Ganesh and daughter Gunavati, who tried to stop him, causing them to bleed. He later fled the scene. The then two-town SI, E Rajesh registered a case in connection with the incident. Dulari Bai died on May 14 while undergoing treatment.
During investigation police found that Ramesh, a lorry driver, was addicted to alcohol after his wife left him. Ramesh had attempted to kill his parents in 2015, after which a case was registered against him and the case was later settled in court.
The then Circle Inspector (CI), T Ramesh Kumar, investigated the case and filed a charge sheet in the court. After examining 15 witnesses in the court and hearing the arguments of both parties, the court found Lodh Ramesh guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2000.
Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju appreciated the current two-town CI, Pratap, public prosecutor PVD Lakshmi, nodal officer D Raghavaiah, court liaison officer N Veera Babu, court duty officer L Bikkulal for their efforts in securing conviction in the case.
