Kothagudem: Maoist surrenders to police at Cherla

She decided to quit the Maoist party as the party leadership harassed her, Bhadrachalam ASP, Dr. Vineeth G said.

Kothagudem: A CPI (Maoist) dalam member surrendered before Bhadrachalam ASP, Dr. Vineeth G, at Cherla in district on Saturday. The Maoist, Musaki Budri alias BR of Rampur in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh State served as a guard in the protection team of the Maoist Telangana State Committee Secretary, Haribhushan, who died recently, the ASP informed the media persons.

Budri used to carry an SLR weapon. She was suffering from anemia and had a young son. The police department would make arrangements for her treatment. She decided to quit the Maoist party as the party leadership harassed her and failed to provide proper treatment to her, Vineeth said.


Her husband, Somadal alias Somanar was an area committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) party, the ASP said while appealing to him to surrender to the police to lead a peaceful life.

He also appealed to the members of the Maoist party and militia to surrender to police either through their relatives or through local police officers and join mainstream life. The surrendered naxal was given medicines and groceries. Cherla CI, B Ashok and others were present.
