Kothagudem: An NRI based in the US has donated medical equipment required for treating Covid-19 patients at the Government District Headquarters Hospital here.
The IMA representative, Dr Vijay Kumar handed over the equipment to the District Collector MV Reddy at a programme held at the hospital here on Thursday. Under the aegis of Chirag Foundation (USA), the NRI Mrudula Naveen donated the equipment including 10 ICU beds, 50 pulse oximeters and others worth Rs 12 lakh to the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector lauded the NRI for her charitable act. The State government was making efforts to improve medical facilities at all government hospitals in the district to offer quality treatment to the poorer sections, he said.
Additional Collector, Anudeep D, Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital, Dr M Mukkanteswara Rao, DM&HO Dr JVL Sirisha, Dr Ravi Babu and others were present.
