Kothagudem: The district police seized ganja worth Rs 1.02 crore and arrested a smuggler from Haryana.
Paloncha Inspector of Police Sathish on Tuesday stated that Burgampadu SI Prasad and his staff intercepted a car during vehicle inspections near Morampalli Banjar village in Burgampadu mandal and seized 204.9 kg of ganja from the accused.
The accused, Sanjeev Kumar, the car driver, procured the ganja from sellers Pradhan Khara and Lakhan Hanthal at Chintoor in AP on the orders of his car owner Prince Kumar. He was caught on his way back to Haryana.
A case has been registered against the car driver along with Prince Kumar, Pradhan Kara and Lakhan Hanthal while the driver was sent to judicial remand, he said.
