Kothagudem: Women and girls who face sexual harassment, ragging, eve teasing, blackmailing and other problems should contact the district She Teams for action against the miscreants, said Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju.

The SP inaugurated new premises of district She Teams and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) at renovated old Chunchupally police station here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion he said that SHE Teams was a special unit set up under Telangana State Police Women Safety Wing (TSWSW) to prevent crimes against women and ensure justice to them.

Affected women and girls could call the She Teams phone number: 8712682131 and report their problem without any fear. The members of the She Teams were constantly patrolling crowded places, railway stations, bus stands and colleges to prevent the presence of miscreants.

The details of the complainants would be kept confidential. Immediately after receiving the complaint, the offender would be called to the She Team office and counselling would be given in the presence of his parents. Depending on the situation, a case would be registered against the accused, Rohith Raju noted.

AHTU has been organising awareness programmes extensively across the district. She Teams and AHTU together registered around 47 cases, 47 petty cases (red handed cases) and organised 92 awareness programmes under the limits of various police stations so far this year, he informed.

Additional SP (operations) Paritosh Pankaj, Kothagudem DSP Abudul Rahaman, CIs Venkateshwarlu, Nagaraju, Srinivas, Karunakar, Ramesh and Jitender, She Teams in-charge CI Nagaraju Reddy, RSI Rama Devi and others were present.
