Kothagudem: Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) Yellandu branch vice president Gaddam Venkateshwarlu has been suspended from the TRS primary membership. It is said that a complaint was lodged against the union leader at Yellandu police station on Thursday for allegedly harassing a Dalit woman sexually. The woman is the wife of a SCCL worker.
Following the incident, Yellandu MLA B Haripriya in a statement said, “The behaviour of Venkateshwarlu has damaged the party prestige and earned a bad name to it, hence he has been suspended from the party for good’. It was alleged that the accused had made lewd remarks during a phone conversation with the woman in question, a fortnight ago. The woman in her complaint said Venkateshwarlu had been harassing her for some time with sexual remarks.
The local Inspector of Police B Ramesh informed the media persons that based on the complaint by the victim, an FIR under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act and other IPC sections was booked against the accused.
