Kothagudem: TVPS, DLSA celebrates International Day of Disabled Persons

Kothagudem Bar Association president Lakkineni Satyanarayana, advocates Mendu Rajamallu and Devender participated in the programme and made the persons with disabilities aware of the laws regarding their rights.

DLSA and TVPS celebrated International Day of Disabled Persons in Kothagudem.

Kothagudem: The District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) and Telangana Vibhinna Pratibhavantula Sangham (TVPS) jointly celebrated International Day of Disabled Persons here on Tuesday.

The celebrations were held at the TVPS office. Kothagudem Bar Association president Lakkineni Satyanarayana, advocates Mendu Rajamallu and Devender participated in the programme and made the persons with disabilities aware of the laws regarding their rights.


CPI district general secretary Sabir Pasha said that he would take the issue of PwDs to the local MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and assured to get the government schemes for them from the government as per reservation.

TVPS state president Sathish Gundapaneni said that since the establishment of the association in 2014 to 2024, the association has assisted and supported PwDs and has worked to improve their lives.

He said that the government should immediately increase pensions, provide double bedroom houses, reservation in all government jobs and implement the Disability Act 2016 strictly. Later, TVPS members planted saplings at Pragathi Maidan.

TVPS general secretary M Praveen Kumar, members Kati Nageswara Rao, Khader Baba, SK Kasim, Shailaja, Chand Pasha, Ramanaiah, Naeem, Ramesh, Gopi, Sajid and others were present.
