Kothagudem: A 24-year-old youth, Kodirekkala Sudheer, allegedly died by suicide at Bangaru Chelaka in Laxmidevipalli mandal of Kothagudem district on Friday.

Police said Sudheer hanged himself at his residence. A purported suicide note found at the spot named three villagers as responsible for his death. They were accused of spreading rumours about Sudheer’s alleged extramarital affair with a woman.

Based on a complaint lodged by Sudheer’s father, Sub-Inspector Ramana registered a case and launched an investigation. Meanwhile, there were allegations that leaders of a political party were attempting to shield the accused named in the complaint.
