Kothagudem: Youth told to contribute to development of agency areas

Kothagudem: Gundala police organised a three-day volleyball tournament for tribal youth in Gudala mandal in the district.

Yellandu DSP N Chandrabhanu participated in the closing ceremony of the volleyball tournament on Monday and presented trophies to winning and runner up teams. As many as 40 teams under Gundala, Allapalli and Komararam police stations limits participated in the tournament conducted following the orders of SP B Rohith Raju.


Damaratogu and Chinna Venkatapuram teams reached the final. The Damaratogu team that emerged as the winner was presented with a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and a shield. The runner up Chinna Venkatapuram team was presented a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a shield while Mamakannu team was awarded a third prize of Rs. 6,000 and a shield.

Addressing the gathering Chandrabanu advised the youth of the agency not to cooperate with anti-social forces but focus on studies and sports. Agency youth should excel in their lives and contribute to the growth of agency villages, he noted.

The district police have been taking up many development works in agency areas besides organising sports competitions, medical camps, laying roads, developing community halls and sports grounds, the DSP said. He appreciated Gundala CI Ravinder, SI Rauf and the staff for successfully organising the tournament.
