Kovidhkushal Reddy, Chetan Maale win Brilliant Trophy titles

A. Kovidhkushal Reddy and Chetan Maale won the Open and juniors titles respectively at the 243rd Brilliant Trophy chess tournament in Hyderabad. Chetan scored six points, while Kovidhkushal emerged winner on tie-break after three players finished with five points

Hyderabad: A. Kovidhkushal Reddy and Chetan Maale won the Open and the juniors category titles respectively in the 243rd Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar School (Dilsukhnagar) here on Sunday.

In the juniors category, Chetan Maale (D.A.V Public School, Safilguda) won the event by scoring six points out of six rounds, while Naga Suryasaketh and M.Divyansh got second and third places with five points each out of six rounds.

Kovidhkushal clinched the open category title despite tying with Shaik Md.Irfan and Pramodhkunar Reddy for first place with five points each out of six rounds by virtue of the tie-break. Shaik Md Irfan and Pramodhkumar Reddy got second and third places.
