Hyderabad: The KPHB police on Wednesday arrested two unqualified technicians who administered a dosage of dye contrast before a CT scan to a patient, resulting in his death.
The arrested are Penumatsa Srinivas (46) and Subramanyam Udayagiri (38), working at the MedQuest Diagnostic Centre, at KPHB colony.
According to the police, a woman patient visited the centre for a CT scan last year. During the procedure, the patient developed health complications and died due to a cardiac arrest.
After the incident, a case was registered and the certificates of the technicians were seized and sent to DMHO office for verification. “On enquiry by DMHO, it was found that the certificates were not genuine and the technicians were not qualified to run the centre.
