Hyderabad: The bold scene with Natural Star Nani in the latest release ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ doesn’t put Krithi Shetty on the back foot in the beginning of her film career as she says, “It’s being shown in a negative light. But it’s all about learning ropes professionally. Whether it is performing for an action sequence or for a romantic scene, an actor sees the both equally. The bedroom scene in the period drama in the first half is the part of the story where it eventually connects to the character Rosy (played by Sai Pallavi).”
After playing a village belle in her Telugu debut ‘Uppena’, Krithi plays an urban girl, the daughter of a single parent.
Krithi had to watch various Telugu films to prepare for her role in Shyam Singha Roy. She had to practice smoking herbal cigarettes to bring perfection.
“Holding the cigarette, pulling the puff.. it took me three days. Earlier, I had even asked director Rahul Sankritiyan to make a few changes to the scene. But the scene was very crucial to establish the character of an urban girl.”
Shyam Singha is a period drama starring Sai Pallavi, Nani, Krithi Shetty in lead roles and also features Rahul Ravindran, Madonna Sebastian in key roles.
It is a supernatural thriller drama which tells the story of an aspiring filmmaker Vasu who wants to make a career in cinema. However, his psychological disorder makes him drift from his focus and lands him in trouble. The second half is about the writer and revolutionary Shyam Singha Roy.
Krithi has completed shooting for the upcoming movie ‘Bangarraju’ which stars Akkineni Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. She also wrapped up a family entertainer titled ‘Aa Ammayi Gurunchi Meeku Cheppali’ which will be released in the first quarter next year.
She also bagged projects with actor Ram Pothineni and another action film ‘Macherla Niyojakavargam’ which are currently on the sets. The actor says she wants to act in action films and is ready for any challenges in playing action roles.
