Hyderabad: “Even since childhood, I’ve been a girl of few words, a less-talked girl whether it is with friends or family. I’d certainly want to improve how I am as a person,” says the ‘Uppena’ actor.
Krithi is happy to see herself on the silver screen with back-to-back films recently with ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ and now with ‘Bangarraju’ which is set to release at the box office this Friday. She plays village belle in the film where she plays the love interest of Naga Chaitanya.
“I play the village sarpanch in the film. I have played six characters so far in earlier films. All have been challenging and unusual for me to take up. I’d prefer not to repeat them over and again and I will try to experiment with new scripts as much as possible. I am picky. But I played the same village belle in ‘Uppena’ too but the character graph in ‘Bangarraju’ is quite different.”
Although she made heads turn with her bold scenes with Natural Star Nani in ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, the actor admits that it’s uncomfortable for her to act. “I didn’t think how the bold scenes featuring me might be received by audiences. But acting in such scenes is quite uncomfortable for me. Playing romantic scenes isn’t easy for an actor of my age. Even during the scene with Nani garu, there were people and technicians watching us both, I made up my mind that I shouldn’t be frightened.”
Being born into a Tulu family in Mumbai and raised in south India, Krithi says she isn’t aware of how people celebrate Sankranthi this part of region in Andhra and Telangana. “I am looking forward for a special Sankranthi. I am happy for the people I am getting to work with,” she says.
Krithi’s dream role is to play a princess. “It isn’t easy but a challenging one to play an on-screen character. One have to do enough research, dig into the books in the history. But I want to play it,” she says.
Her upcoming films in Telugu include ‘Aa Ammayi Gurunchi Meeku Cheppali’, Nithiin starrer ‘Macharla Niyojakavargam’ and Ram Pothineni’s upcoming film.
