Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao called out Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the Congress government’s failure to retrieve the bodies of workers trapped in the SLBC tunnel since it collapsed on February 22.

Calling it a tragic reminder of the incompetence of the Congress, he blamed the government for “doing next to zilch” despite big statements and questionable deadlines.

“In a fully functional government under a competent leader, you could have brought back humans from Mars in three months. But since it is the Congress, they failed to even bring out the bodies from the tunnel,” he posted on X.

Rama Rao condemned the Chief Minister for not issuing even a condolence message or meeting the bereaved families.

“Aren’t you ashamed Revanth Reddy? Any half-decent human would have done that by now,” he added, demanding that Revanth Reddy apologise to the families and provide them immediate government support.

Lambasting the Congress government for its gross negligence and corruption, the BRS working president said families were torn apart and works were initiated without prior assessment for the sake of “commissions” (bribes) despite knowing the risks. He urged the government to show basic empathy and take accountability for the lives lost.
