Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday strongly condemned attempts by Congress leaders to attack BRS MLA from Jangaon Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Friday.

Saying that a few Congress leaders, allegedly in an inebriated condition, behaved like street rowdies in the presence of Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka during an official programme, Rama Rao said this reflected the deteriorating law and order situation in Telangana.

Taking to X, the BRS working president said that while Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was indulging in revelry abroad, Congress leaders were running amok and creating havoc under the influence of alcohol.

“The situation in Telangana has now become so dire that even at foundation-stone laying ceremonies and inaugurations, drunk and drive tests need to be conducted,” Rama Rao said.

He said such incidents were the result of statements made by the Chief Minister that encouraged and fostered criminal behaviour. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Telangana society would not tolerate such a culture under any circumstances, he said.

“The people have already taught a fitting lesson to the Congress in the recent Panchayat elections. In the upcoming municipal elections too, the people will surely teach the Chief Minister and the ruling party a lesson,” Rama Rao added.
