Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao found fault with the Congress government for stalling the much-awaited Kothwalguda Eco Park, calling the project a victim of the Revanth Reddy government. He said the Revanth Reddy government was obsessed with politics and propaganda, rather than public service.
Pointing to the issue raised by him in July last year, Rama Rao said the BRS government had completed a majority of the works nearly two years ago. However, the 125-acre project remains unopened till date.
“A world-class park built for Hyderabadis lies in limbo because of the government’s inefficiency. Incompetence and apathy have become the hallmark of the Congress regime,” he said, terming it ‘hopeless governance’.
The Eco Park, situated on the Himayat Sagar lakefront, was envisioned as a major urban attraction featuring India’s largest aviary, an aquarium, boardwalks, landscaped gardens, and weekend camping facilities. Launched in October 2022, it had seen steady progress when the BRS was in power.
The BRS working president observed that the pace of work slowed after the Congress came to power, and in the last few months, it had come to a complete standstill due to lack of administrative support. He said he had flagged the issue 13 months ago, but the government failed to act.
“Hopeless government, hopeless governance,” he said.
