Hyderabad: Amid speculations of the Congress government planning his arrest, BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for orchestrating a reign of fear and suppression. He dared the Congress government to arrest him and declared that he cannot be intimidated with such threats.

“Arrest me if you must. I will walk into prison with my head held high, standing by the farmers of Telangana and giving voice to the voiceless,” he declared. In a statement, Rama Rao condemned the government’s alleged conspiracies and midnight arrests targeting farmers, particularly in tribal regions.

He charged the Chief Minister with branding legitimate farmer protests as conspiracies, including those against a pharma company linked to Reddy’s son-in-law. “For a man caught red-handed accepting a Rs 50 lakh bribe, everything seems like a conspiracy,” he remarked, referring to Revanth Reddy’s past.

“Farmers protesting your son-in-law’s pharma company – conspiracy. Farmers standing up to your brother’s threats – conspiracy. Two people talking on the phone – conspiracy. Even social media posts about people’s struggles are, according to you, conspiracies,” he charged.

Pointing to the plight of tribal farmers, the BRS working president criticised the government’s delay in addressing their grievances. “After waiting nine months for your appointment, facing threats, and enduring midnight raids, if these farmers revolt, it’s labeled a conspiracy,” he said.

Rama Rao also condemned the alleged illegal arrests and torture of poor farmer families, vowing to continue his fight against the oppressive and undemocratic practices of the Revanth Reddy government. He reiterated BRS’ commitment to supporting the farmers and vowed to hold the government accountable for its actions.
