Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over its failure to deliver the election promises. He demanded that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi apologise over the Congress government’s inefficiency to implement them.

In a series of posts to X on Monday, Rama Rao stated that during the elections, Congress leaders gave full-page advertisements and signed affidavits on stamp papers, promising to implement all their guarantees within 100 days.

“Now, 300 days have passed, and not a single Congress leader has answered the people. Will Rahul and Priyanka come from Delhi to apologise (as they campaigned and guaranteed to deliver all promises)?” he questioned.

The BRS working president also criticised the government’s neglect of Hyderabad’s infrastructure, urging Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to prioritise the existing city before planning future developments. Referring to the deteriorating condition of the Manjeera Pipeline Road since February 2024, he stressed the urgent need for repairs to ensure public safety and improve infrastructure.

“You can build future cities later. Why don’t you take care of the existing city first?” he asked, pointing out the growing frustration among Hyderabad residents.

Further, Rama Rao also lambasted the Chief Minister for ignoring deteriorating conditions in the State’s villages. “The Chief Minister is boarding and disembarking flights for his Delhi tours, while villages are left struggling with a lack of funds,” he said, highlighting the dire situation in rural Telangana.

He found fault with the State government for failing to release even basic funds mandated by the Finance Commission, leading to a deterioration in gram panchayat administration. “Sanitation has collapsed, people are suffering from diseases, and there’s no diesel for tractors or wages for workers. For the past eight months, everything has been in chaos,” he observed. He further pointed out that villages, which were once thriving, are now in a state of penury.
