KTR distributes handlooms sarees to Anganwadi teachers and Aayas
The State Government as a means to promote handlooms and facilitate more orders for weavers, is now offering handlooms sarees to 67,411 Anganwadi teachers and Aayas across the State.

Hyderabad: Now, Anganwadi teachers and Aayas to get handlooms sarees. This is after the State Government revised the salaries of Anganwadi teachers and Aayas thrice and offering 30 percent PRC.
The State Government as a means to promote handlooms and facilitate more orders for weavers, is now offering handlooms sarees to 67,411 Anganwadi teachers and Aayas across the State.
Handlooms Minister KT Rama Rao along with Minister Satyavathi Rathod distributed the sarees to Anganwadi teachers and Aayas at Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday.
The Handlooms Minister also released the jute bags made by transgenders.
There are 31,711 main Anganwadi centres and 3989 mini Anganwadi centres across the State. The handlooms sarees will be offered to the 67,411 Anganwadi teachers and Aayas working at these centres.
Already, the Women and Child welfare department offers two sarees to Anganwadi teachers and Aayas every year. Now, an additional handlooms saree is being distributed to them by the department.
Women and Child welfare department Commissioner Divya Devarajan said the Anganwadi teachers and Aayas were getting honorarium, besides sarees. All efforts were being made to strengthen the centres and extend quality pre primary education and nutrition food that that centres, she said.
