KTR hails The Paradise for capturing Telangana soil, dialect and culture

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao watched Nani-starrer The Paradise at a Hyderabad theatre with party leaders and praised the film for portraying a struggle for existence and oppression. He also lauded Nani, Priyadarshi and director Srikanth Odela

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao, along with other party leaders, watched Nani-starrer ‘The Paradise’ at a theatre in Hyderabad and later praised the film for portraying a struggle for existence and a fight against oppression.

Rama Rao, along with BRS MLAs, former ministers and other party leaders, watched a special screening of the film at Sudharshan Theatre at RTC X Roads on Saturday night.

The film features a lookalike of BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Set in the 1980s, the film has actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda playing MLA Shankaranna, a character that resembles KCR.

The audience cheered loudly when scenes featuring Shankaranna, sporting a ‘tilak’ and delivering trademark dialogues in the Telangana dialect, appeared on screen. BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy was also seen throwing confetti towards the screen.

The film revolves around the Savaari tribe’s fight for recognition, with Nani playing the protagonist. It also references the legacy of Sammakka and the historical struggle of the Koya tribal community against oppression. Shankaranna vows to support the Savaari tribe’s fight for dignity.

K T Rama Rao said in a post on X that the film portrayed a struggle for existence and a fight against oppression. He congratulated director Srikanth Odela, saying the filmmaker had conveyed a powerful message that when the moment arises, even blades of grass can transform into crowbars.

Rama Rao said Srikanth had given a “splendid visual form” to the story of a leader who emerged and fought for recognition when a society was oppressed.

“Sincere best wishes to my friend Nani, who truly lived the role of the protagonist. Special congratulations to Priyadarshi,” Rama Rao posted.

KTR also quoted a dialogue by Priyadarshi’s character: “Even if it means staring death in the face… I will bring you recognition.”

“You know who that is,” he added.

Rama Rao also praised the film for capturing Telangana’s soil, dialect and culture.

Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra, former ministers Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and MLAs Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Bandaru Lakshma Reddy and Anil Jadhav, along with other BRS leaders, watched the film with KTR.
