KTR, Harish Rao pay tributes to Kaloji Narayana Rao on birth anniversary

BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao paid tributes to poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on his birth anniversary, recalling his literary legacy, fight against injustice and commitment to people’s rights. They also highlighted his contribution to Telangana’s language and identity.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and party Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday paid tributes to Telangana icon and noted poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on his birth anniversary. They said Kaloji was an inspiration to those who fight for self-respect and voice against injustice.

Rama Rao called Kaloji as a people’s poet who made people’s struggles his own and used his writings to awaken society against authoritarianism and oppression. He said Kaloji had demonstrated that Telangana language was the people’s language and not merely that of textbooks.

He reminded that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao declared Kaloji’s birth anniversary as Telangana Language Day, named a medical university after him and built Kaloji Kala Kshetram in Warangal.

Harish Rao recalled Kaloji’s words that resisting injustice gave meaning to his struggle and ending injustice brought it fulfilment. He said those who fought injustice, raised their voice for people’s rights and questioned to protect democracy remained his true ideals.

Paying tributes to Kaloji, he saluted those fighting against the Congress government’s anarchic rule to safeguard people and democracy.
