Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has castigated Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for neglecting Mid-Day Meals programme for school children, while prioritising political gains. He took a dig at Revanth Reddy, questioning whether his focus was on feeding poor students or serving his “Delhi bosses.”
“What is the Chief Minister’s priority – providing food to hungry students, sending bulldozers to demolish slums, awarding AMRUT scheme tenders to his brother-in-law, or letting Adani Group to loot the State’s resources?” he asked.
Taking to X, Rama Rao asked if Revanth Reddy was more focused on swindling funds in the name of Musi River Development project and sending funds to please his Delhi bosses, or feeding poor children who were future of the nation. He demanded the State government to review the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal scheme and ensure that children receive proper nutrition, rather than engaging in mere publicity stunts.
Meanwhile, senior BRS leader Harish Rao condemned the rising cases of food poisoning in government-run Gurukul schools. Referring to the latest incident in Mahabubabad’s Damaravancha ST Gurukul school, where several students were hospitalised, he stated that repeated incidents of food poisoning, serve as a true example of the Congress government’s negligence.
“In just one year, hundreds of students have been affected by food poisoning, with many hospitalised and some even losing their lives. Despite Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s promise to act against adulterated food suppliers, the situation remains dire,” he said. Demanding immediate action, he urged the government to improve food quality in hostels and ensure better treatment for affected students.
