Rajanna-Sircilla: BRS working president KT Rama Rao once again displayed his humanitarian side by facilitating the return of a Gulf migrant who was stranded in Muscat, back to his native village in the district.
A native of Baswapur in Thangallapalli mandal, Balasani Gouraiah had gone to Muscat two months ago in search of employment. However, upon reaching there, he realised he had been deceived by an agent. The company not only failed to pay him the promised salary but also seized his passport, leaving him helpless.
Facing severe hardship, Gouraiah recorded a selfie video narrating his ordeal and shared it in local WhatsApp groups. Responding swiftly, Rama Rao wrote to the Indian Embassy in Muscat on October 12, seeking assistance to secure Gouraiah’s release and facilitate his return.
Following the intervention, Gouraiah’s passport was retrieved and financial aid was arranged to cover his travel expenses. He landed at Hyderabad airport on Monday morning and became emotional upon reuniting with his family, saying he had never imagined returning to India.
Gouraiah expressed gratitude to Rama Rao for his timely help and also thanked social activist Sheik Mohammad for extending support in his repatriation.
