KTR hits out at Telangana Congress for failing to stop Andhra Pradesh from diverting Krishna water
BRS working president says neighbouring State has already consumed 646 TMC, siphoning off 10,000 cusecs per day through Nagarjuna Sagar right canal for last three months, while Revanth Reddy government remains mute spectator
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has charged the Congress government with allowing Andhra Pradesh to divert Krishna river waters unchecked. He said the State government’s inaction has resulted in Andhra Pradesh’s free-for-all action.
He stated that Andhra Pradesh has already consumed 646 TMC from the Krishna, siphoning off 10,000 cusecs per day through the Nagarjuna Sagar right canal for last three months, while the Revanth Reddy government remains a mute spectator.
Taking to X, Rama Rao lambasted the Congress, stating that while former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao transformed barren lands into fertile fields over his decade-long rule, the Congress has reversed it within a year.
“Telangana was formed with the sole agenda of ensuring justice for its people in water, funds and employment. But the Congress government is ignorant to all of them,” he added.

Despite an impending drinking water and irrigation crisis this summer, he said, the Chief Minister is busy taking helicopter rides to Delhi with severe disregard for the plight of farmers who are facing critical water issues.
The BRS working president also criticised the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), stating that the three-member committee remained clueless, even as Andhra Pradesh continues to loot river water. With fields in Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam ayacut drying up, he questioned the Congress government’s inaction, warning that if Telangana’s water interests are not protected, both farmers and the common people will suffer.
